Additional Notes & Condition Report

Shade: appears to be in generally good condition; each of the turtleback tiles appear to be in good, undamaged condition; there do not appear to be very many smaller geometric segments that have damage - only seven were observed, however, there may be a few others; the segments with stress cracks appear to be in stable condition; the shade appears to have had two adjacent small geometric glass segments replaced; these are located at the top area, in the second row from the top; all of the other small glass segments appear to be original and well-matched; there does not appear to be any evidence of any other type of solder repair/glass substitution; the two small glass segments blend in nicely enough; the shade is ever so slightly "out of round" - there appears to be a slightly compressed area of the shade and the shade measures 21 inches across one way and 20 1/2 inches across another way; the turtleback tiles have a distinctly mottled amber-orange coloration to them

Base: appears to be in generally good condition; the six sockets appear to be old, however, they may be later replacements; the plastic on/off switches are marked WEBER; one of these switches is slightly damaged; lamp is currently wired (later wiring); sockets and wiring not tested; nice, uniform chocolate brown patina with some rust coloration coming through; dulled, soiled patina, particularly, on the top side of the platform base; would benefit from a gentle cleaning and waxing

Heat Cap: may or may not be an original Tiffany Studios heat cap, however, it appears to be; nice uniform chocolate brown patina; slightly pushed in area at the top

Note: In Robert Koch's "Louis C. Tiffany's Glass Bronzes Lamps," Appendix 1 (Price List of 1906), lamp base model 391 is described as: "6 lights, standard, 4-legged claw feet-slide" and the retail price was $100
