NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held a successful auction of Coins, Bank Notes and Postage Stamps on August 27, 2020. Collectors vied for United States and World numismatic and philatelic rarities.
With competitive bidding, the sale totaled $198,390, surpassing its estimate of $130,050-165,050 with an exceptional 100% by lot and value.
The sale was highlighted by a selection of United States Gold $20 Liberty and St. Gauden issues with many graded by PCGS and NGC and offerings of Raw (uncertified) US and Foreign gold pieces, a couple of fun groups such a Chinese Missionary group, eclectic group of World coins, a mixed bullion group, some English sovereigns, a Papal medal with portrait.
The philatelic section offered a nice offering of US early mint sheets and a fascinating holding of Slavic and Balkan material sprinkled with some W.European items such as a set of Renner souvenir sheets.
