NEW YORK, NY -- Perfectly timed for the holidays, Doyle's auction of Important Jewelry on December 13, 2019 offered glittering creations for that special person on your list. Showcased were high carat weight diamonds and exquisite jewelry by the world's most prestigious makers, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, David Webb and Tiffany & Co. Also featured were fine watches for ladies and gentlemen.
With competitive international bidding in the salesroom, on the telephones, and via the Internet the auction totaled a successful $4,773,327, surpassing its estimate of $3,105,900-4,417,500, with a strong 86% sold by lot and 90% sold by value.

Doyle was honored to auction an important and rare jewelry collection from the Estate of animal rights advocate Mary Max. This remarkable collection offered over 70 lots and features a curated selection of exquisite designs by Belperron, Mellerio, Hemmerle, Lalique, Grima, George L’Enfant, David Webb, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Tiffany & Co.

Doyle was honored to auction jewelry from the Estate of Janine Metz, who was the Social Secretary to the Duchess of Windsor. Featured were a selection of high carat weight diamond and sapphire rings, a group of colorful Indian jewelry, and other dazzling creations from the collection of a remarkable and fascinating woman.
