Born in Belgium in 1922, Pol Bury is primarily known for his kinetic sculptures. Inspired by the movement in Calder's mobiles in 1952, Bury transitioned from CoBrA avant-garde Surrealist paintings to creating motor-propelled weathervane-like sculptures and jewelry. His works are on view at the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Chelsea Art Museum's permanent collection.
