NEW YORK, NY – Doyle’s Fine Jewelry auction on February 20, 2019 offered a wide range of jewelry with more moderate estimates than in the Important Jewelry category of sales. Showcased were over 800 lots of stylish jewelry by the world's most prestigious makers, including Tiffany & Co., Schlumberger, David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Hermès, Bulgari and Buccellati. Among the fine watches were examples by Rolex, Chopard, Piaget and Patek Philippe.
With international competitive bidding in the saleroom, on the telephones and via the Internet, the auction totaled a successful $2,087,156, at the top end of the $1,478,100-2,086,200 estimate, with a strong 89% sold by lot and 92% sold by value.
The Estate of Linda Lee Johnson
Doyle is honored to auction a group of jewelry from the estate of acclaimed jewelry designer Linda Lee Johnson (1944-2018) as a featured section of the auction. An accomplished sculptor, Johnson studied jewelry making in the 1980s, and her creations were initially sold by Tiffany & Co.
