BENTZEN, R. C. Brown Bear.
[N.p.: privately printed, 1956]. Inscribed by the author. Original pictorial wrappers. 6 x 7 3/4 inches; 60 pp.; map, illustrated after photographs. Wrappers lightly spotted and creased with short tears to backstrip, crease to upper corner of text leaves.
Inscribed by the author to inner wrapper: "To a dear friend, / and a great artist, / Bernard Thomas. / R.C.B." A short autograph note is laid in, also addressed to Bernard, requesting that he return the copy of "Kenai Kings" that Bentzen loaned to him -- the author's only other publication on bears. Bentzen, president of the Wyoming Archaeological Society (though a dentist by trade), led a field operation to complete the mapping of the "Medicine Wheel" and the surrounding area on Medicine Mountain near Kane, Wyoming.
