Wrappers a bit edgeworn with one or two spots, some pale staining to upper corner of first quarter of text block.
Inscribed by taxidermist and artist Owen Gromme, who contributed five chapters, to Carveth Wells, another member of the expedition party. "Led by Samuel Barrett, the Director of the Milwaukee Public Museum, and accompanied by John Cudahy and the talented taxidermist/artist Owen Gromme among others, the expedition traveled to Kenya and Tanganyika to collect wild game specimens. Included in the bag were lion, buffalo, giraffe and bongo" (Czech). A fine association copy. Czech, Africa, p. 21.
