NEW YORK, NY -- The October 30, 2019 auction of Russian Works of Art will present property dating from the 18th century through the Russian Revolution in 1917 and into the early Soviet period. The sale will offer a broad selection of works from estates and private collections, including Fabergé, silver and vertu, porcelain, glass, and sculpture.

Rare documents, photographs and memorabilia related to the Russian Imperial Family, appearing on the market for the first time, highlight a diversity of property from private collections. From the Descendants of Grand Duke George Mikhailovich of Russia (1863-1919) are rare postcards signed by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and the daughters of Emperor Nicholas II (est. each $2,500-3,500) and an important collection of hand-written letters from the Grand Duke to his family with firsthand accounts of historical events during World War I and the Russian Revolution (est. range $2,500-8,000).

Further highlights include material related to Grand Duchesses Olga Alexandrovna and Xenia Alexandrovna and Russian Imperial porcelain, enamels, Fabergé and objets de vertu.

Prominent collectors, dealers, and museum curators from around the world attend these sales at Doyle, the only auction house in the United States with dedicated Russian works of art auctions. Past auctions have included exceptional works of art from distinguished collections, such as those of descendants of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna and Grand Duke George Mikhailovich of Russia. Our most recent Russian Works of Art auctions witnessed property, highlighted by works from a Connecticut Private Collection and a West Coast Private Collection, far exceed its pre-sale estimates.
