Russian Parcel-Gilt Silver Salt Throne
Maker's mark AA, Moscow, 1884
Of traditional form, on pierced bracket feet, the elaborately pierced back in the form of a window frame, the waisted rectangular base engraved in Russian: Eat bread, salt and listen to good people, with a hinged seat. Height 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), approximately 11.4 ounces (355 grams).
