. Boston: Allen and Ticknor, 1833. First edition, inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To/The Rev. Doctor Sharp/With the best respects of/The Author." Publisher's cloth with paper spine label. 7 3/8 x 4 inches (18.7 x 10 cm); frontispiece and one in text illustration, [6] 232 pp. Ink stamp of the Newton Geological Institution to the title and small ink numerals to the copyright, foxing to frontis offset to title, minor underlining in red crayon towards end, a few chips and small losses to spine tips and label, faint residue from former spine label.
Rare inscribed first edition of one of the most important early abolitionist works.
