Lot Details

Lot 14
[ANON] [Dobsis Club 1872-1912].
N.p.: (self-published), n.d. (but about 1912). Original reverse buck ring binder, upper cover stamped "Dobsis Club 1872-1912" in blind, housed in a modern green clamshell case. 8 1/2 x 6 inches; [2], 60 pp. of typewritten text, with a hand-drawn map of the Club's property, a folding cyanotype of a map of the region, and 23 photographs of the Club and its members. Some wear, but overall sound.
A privately issued account of this private Maine fishing and hunting club, apparently prepared for its few members. The work includes original photographs of the Club's members. This, in addition to the history of the Club, includes lists of fish and game caught and bagged. The catch was predominantly salmon and trout, but much coarse fishing is also recorded. The work is unrecorded on all databases we have consulted, and it seems possible that this is the only extant example.

Estimate: $300 - $500
