Pietre Dure, Turquoise and Silver Snuff Box
Apparently unmarked, probably Russia, second half of the 19th century
Cartouche-shaped, set with turqouise stones throughout, the hinged cover centering a pietra dure plaque depciting a floral bouquet, enclosing a handwritten note in Russian: Belonging to Grand Duke Michael Nikolaevich. Died in 1910. Length 2 1/2 inches (6 cm).
