Pair of Japanese Bronze Vases
Meiji Period, late 19th century
Each vessel of globular form, applied with birds in flight among reeds and flowering trees supported on a foliate decorated tripod stand attached to a circular pedestal base, the sides with branch-form handles issuing blossoms and leaves, the cover pierced and surmounted by a dragon figure coiled around a rocky outcropping. Height overall 19 inches.

surface appears to be polished in areas; one small chip to base of one vase , one lid is a bit warped so does not sit entirely strait on base, one base with a few small casting holes near bottom, very minor.
