Chinese Porcelain Inlaid Lacquered Hardwood Ten-Panel Folding Screen
Qing Dynasty, 19th century
Each panel inset with polychrome enamel porcelains depicting figures in landscape settings in the upper register and birds and flowers in the lower register, all reserved on a red lacquer and gilt decorated ground and bordered by red lacquer and gilt decorated panels inset with blue and white porcelain plaques bearing bats and scrolling floral designs, the reverse with gilt birds and flowers on black lacquer ground, the feet with brass sabots. Height of each panel 51 3/8 inches, width 10 1/2 inches, width overall 107 inches.
