REAGAN, NANCY Group of five signed manuscript notes.
Includes a three page letter signed on two sheets of Mrs. Reagan's Executive Residence (California) stationery; a note signed on a White House card; and three notes signed on personal stationery. All but one with original envelope. Minor wear, a few photographs of Mehle with the Reagans included in the lot as is an approximately 8 page transcript of an interview of Nancy Reagan with Aileen Mehle; Together with several pieces of White House ephemera, including invitations, menus, inaugural items, etc., mostly from the Reagan years; And books signed by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter and Lady Bird Johnson. The Carter volume Everything to Gain, is a first edition, signed by both Jimmy and Rosalynn; the Johnson is A Whitehouse Diary, inscribed to Mehle as "Suzy."
In the longer note here from Mrs. Reagan, she reports being sick on a trip to Europe: "I got sick in Rome but managed to struggle out for the audience with the Pope which I was determined not to miss. All of Europe from the leaders on down seem to be very concerned about the election..."
