Denis-Louis Ancellet, last quarter of the 18th century
The rectangular top with rounded outset corners, inset copper liner and fluted stiles, above paneled sides with ring handles, over a fluted apron, raised on stop-fluted tapering legs, stamped D.L. ANCELLET JME. Height 29 inches (73.7 cm), width 38 inches (96.5 cm), depth 14 3/8 inches (36.5 cm).

Beautiful quality, fair condition with wear associated with watering of plants and use, both long sides sunfaded, one side lacking end molding, appearing to retain its original liner, once fitted with metal sheets but now with a later copper liner, side handles possibly replaced, with age cracks to back panels, rubbing to gilt-bronze, two sabots loose, formerly fitted with casters, water damage to edge of top
