Chinese Longquan Celadon Glazed Guanyin Group
Ming Dynasty
The deity shown seated atop a lotus pedestal resting on the back of a qilin, wearing loose robes left open at the chest revealing a beaded necklace, the hands grasping a long lingzhi sprig, the face with heavy lidded eyes beneath an elaborate foliate crown, the qilin standing foursquare detailed with bulging eyes beneath thick brows, the mouth left open bearing teeth, covered in a sage green glazed. Height 9 1/2 inches.

Additional Notes & Condition Report

Loss to both sides of foliate crown, loss to tip of thumb on left hand. A few scattered glaze gaps, pinholes, scattered glaze imperfections. Old small hairline crack underneath the glaze on left side on guanyin, may be an originaly firing flaw.
