Thence by descent to the current owner
French sculptor Philippe Hiquily produced semi-abstracted figurative sculpture using bronze, various metals and later examples employing hide, bone and fossils. His body of work also includes furniture. La Kuan Yin is a standout work by the artist, with simplified, flattened and elongated forms.
