Of ruyi-form, lacquered over a pewter core, the lid worked with an image of a scholar and attendant in a landscape, the sides with squared scrolling borders. Height 1 inch, width 3 3/4 inches.

Small 't' form crack to top above the heads of the figures. A small 1/8 inch diameter loss associated with this crack. Three hairline cracks on the sides of the lid. Base with average wear.
