Chinese Lacquered and Giltwood Figure of a Bodhisattva
Ming Dynasty
Seated with the hands held in the lap, dressed in long layered robes left open at the chest, the face with a downcast meditative expression beneath a removable foliate-form crown and before hair swept back into a high topknot, traces of white, red, black and gilt pigments. Height overall 11 3/4 inches.
