Tibetan Gilt-Bronze Figure of a Lama
18th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with his hands in dharmachakramudra holding the stems of lotus flowering along his shoulder, supporting a sword and a manuscript, clad in voluminous layered robes with floral motifs incised on hems, the face with a downcast expression below a pointed hat with long tabs resting on each shoulder. Height 7 1/4 inches.
