Archaeological Revival Gold, Carved Lapis Scarab, Lapis and Diamond Pendant
The stylized shield-shaped pendant edged and accented by fine rope-twist gold and scrolled gold wire, centering one carved lapis scarab approximately 31.0 x 26.0 mm., quartered by small rose-cut diamonds, flanked by two cylinders tipped by 4 inverted round lapis, topped by a tapered pendant-loop of similar design, the reverse with a glazed compartment, circa 1875, approximately 29.7 dwts. gross.

Lapis scarab: deep vivid royal blue with visible pyrite inclusions, dull luster, slightly loose in prong setting.

Inverted lapis: bright royal blue, good luster.

Minor indentation on reverse, minor scratches.

Good condition. 2 7/8 x 2".
