Pair of Chinese Blanc de Chine Figures of Bodhisattva
19th Century
One figure seated on a recumbent elephant, the right hand holding a sceptre, the other seated on the back of a recumbent fu lion holding a blossoming lotus, both dressed in long robes open at the chest exposing a jeweled necklace, the hair pulled back and gathered into a high chignon behind a crown with strands knotted and resting over the shoulders, each with an impressed seal mark on the back, on 20th century European gilt-bronze base. Height overall 14 inches.

Figure on lion: Small chips off of front of crown. small chip and reglue to edge of scarf on back side of figure.

Figure on elephant: Porcelain has come unattached from gilt bronze base.
