The rectangular jade case with faceted edges, accented by a pink guilloche enamel band centering a line of stylized gold leaves, edged by white enamel dots, quartered by decorative gold panels, signed Cartier, Paris, no. 2987, with maker's mark and French assay mark, circa 1905, pink enamel loss. 3 7/8 x 2 3/16 x 1/2 inches.

Jade: light mottled green with some brown inclusions, with several areas of bright apple green patches, long surface reaching inclusion on reverse of case at lower right corner, several areas of abrasions and scratches, translucent, good luster.
6 white enamel dots missing in front, 3 white enamel dots missing on one side, 2 white enamel dots on other side with minor loss.
Area of pink guilloche enamel loss on reverse.
