Showcasing Works by Prominent Artists of the Late 20th and 21st Centuries
On May 5, 2013, Doyle New York will present an auction of Contemporary Art. Featured will be a wide range of paintings and sculpture by some of the most prominent artists of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, including works by American, European, Latin American and Asian artists.
Highlighting the sale are a 1983 screenprint portrait of Robert Mapplethorpe by Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987) (est. $90,000-110,000) and an etched glass, steel and steel cable work from 1974 titled Second Roebling #2 by Christopher Wilmarth (American, 1943-1987) (est. $60,000-80,000).
Other featured property includes works by Xue Song, Sterling Ruby, Jose Bedia, Llyn Foulkes, Jim Dine, Peter Gronquist, Albert Irvin and Jeff Koons.
The section of the November 5, 2013 auction devoted to Contemporary and Street Art comprises lots 301 through 396.
