Russian Porcelain Basket from the Service of the Order of St. Vladimir
Imperial Porcelain Factory, Moscow, period of Catherine II, circa 1783-85
Of oval form, the pierced exterior molded with a ribbon and cross representing the Order and intertwined garland, the interior painted with the star of the Order including the motto 'Usefulness, Honor and Glory,' with two woven branch-form handles, marked E under base with blue underglaze. Length 13 1/4 inches.
