On May 5, 2010, Doyle New York held an auction of American Art. The sale showcased works by a wide variety of prominent American artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Highlighting the sale was a view of Coopers Lake painted in 1924 by George Bellows, which sold for $182,500. A marble bust of Proserpine sold for $80,500. With competitive bidding from the salesroom, the telephones and the Internet, the sale totaled $764,388 with a strong 79% sold by lot and 85% sold by value.
