Gentleman: Frame rubbing. Varnish layer makes it difficult to discern any restoration. Surface scuffs, scratches and dirt.

Lady: Frame rubbing. Inpaint in the face and neck. Crack in the panel at upper center. Area of paint flaking and loss to the left of the sitter's face, extending from her hair down to the background above her shoulder. Another area of paint loss at lower right. Craquelure in the face, neck and lace collar. Surface scuffs and scratches. Dirty varnish layer.
