Pair of George III Gilt-Bronze Mounted Mahogany, Tulipwood Rosewood and Sabicu Commodes
Attributed to Pierre Langlois, circa 1765
Each brass bound banded top of serpentine outline, above a bombe case enclosing three long drawers with scrolling escutcheons and foliate cast handles, raised on cabriole legs with chutes and leaf cast scrolling sabots. Height 33 inches (83.8 cm), width 32 1/2 inches, depth 21 inches (53.3 cm).

Overall good restored condition. Bronze mounts appear to be lacquered. Some patches and infills to veneers with areas of inpainting. Later staining to backboards. Minor old repairs to legs. Slight variations in size of each commode. Old marks, scratches, scuffs and wear.
