Aesthetic Movement Maple Faux Bamboo Desk
Attributed to R.J. Horner, late 19th century
In two sections, the upper recessed section with a three-quarter gallery above closed and open compartments, the lower section with a slightly canted overhanging top with a hinged lid inset with a leather writing surface, over a case enclosing a storage compartment on the left and two short drawers on the right, raised on curved legs. Height 52 inches, width 31 3/4 inches, depth 23 inches.
An identical desk is in the collection of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut
