American Aesthetic Movement Faux Bamboo Maple Dressing Table
Attributed to R.J. Horner, late 19th century
In two sections, the upper section with a recessed rectangular beveled mirror plate surmounted by a spindle gallery, flanked by a partial two-tier gallery, the lower section with a rectangular hinged top with a slanted overhanging area, opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising four shallow storage compartments and a recessed section enclosing a deep shallow side drawer, raised on faux bamboo legs joined by a cross stretcher and ending in curved feet. Height 58 1/4 inches, width 31 1/2 inches, depth 20 7/8 inches.
