On November 11, 2009, Doyle New York held an auction of Modern & Contemporary Art. The sale showcased paintings, drawings and sculpture by important European, American, Latin American and Asian artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The top lot of the sale was Lost and Found, an abstract work from 1958 by Italian artist Afro, which sold for $362,500 to a buyer from Italy. Larry Rivers’ depiction of Two Women with a Dog achieved $74,500.

With competitive international bidding from the salesroom, the telephones and the Internet, the sale totaled $1,155,160, just under the pre-sale estimate of $1,230,700-1,797,300, with 61% sold by lot and 80% sold by value.
