In publisher's full red faux leather, gilt decorations to boards and spine, with original blue cloth slipcase. 8 3/4 inches (22.5 cm). xiii, 183 pp., plus colophon leaf. Illustrated by John Tenniel. One of approximately 500 copies out of the total edition of 1500 that was especially signed for LEC subscribers by Alice [Liddell] Hargreaves, the original Alice, on one of the preliminary blanks. This example marked "Office Copy," with the LEC office blindstamp. Slipcase soiled and edgeworn, minor wear to head and foot of spine, otherwise near fine. * Through the Looking Glass. New York: Limited Editions Club, 1935. One of 1500 copies. In publisher's full blue faux leather, with gilt decorations to board and spine, with original red cloth slipcase. 8 3/4 inches (22.5 cm). xiii, 212 pp., plus colophon leaf. Illustrated by John Tenniel. One of approximately 1,150 copies out of the total edition of 1500, signed by Alice Hargreaves in the colophon, marked "Office Copy," with the LEC office blindstamp. Slipcase soiled and edgeworn, minor wear to head and foot of spine, otherwise fine.
It is uncommon to find both Alices with the Hargreaves signature together, and even more uncommon to find two internal office copies.
