Auction: Doyle+Design, Mar 11, 2026

  • Popular Doyle+Design Auction on March 11, 2026 Surpasses Expectations!

  • Sale of Modern & Contemporary Furniture, Art & Design Achieves a 97% Sell-Through Rate

  • Consignments Are Currently Being Accepted for Future Auctions

NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's popular Doyle+Design sale on March 11, 2026 saw competitive bidding drive exceptional results, with the sale total surpassing expectations and an impressive 97% sell-through rate. This highly anticipated auction showcased a wide range of Modern and Contemporary furniture, art and design by prominent designers, makers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Highlighting the sale was a Fragile Future light sculpture by the Amsterdam-based artist duo Studio Drift that exceeded its estimate to sell for $32,000. The chandelier-like sculpture is composed of a multitude of natural dandelion seed heads attached to LED lights, all connected by a delicate bronze electrical circuit. The piece explores a central theme in Studio Drift’s work: the relationship between nature and technology.

The Art section of the auction saw strong results for paintings, prints and sculpture by a wide range of artists, including Yaacov Agam, Keith Haring, Auguste Herbin, Robert Mangold, Roger Muhl, Costantino Nivola, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Maurice de Vlaminck.

Among the Furniture and Design offerings were a Födelsedagen tapestry by Märta Måås‑Fjetterström that realized $10,880; a "Papa Bear" lounge chair and associated ottoman by Hans Wegner that sold for $9,600; and an Arts and Crafts shagreen and silver tea caddy by John Paul Cooper that achieved $7,680, in addition to examples by Le Corbusier, Tommi Parzinger, T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, Illum Wikkelsø, Edward Wormley and Frank Lloyd Wright.
