Was conserved in 2025. The surface was vacuumed with brushes and then cleaned to reduce dust and dirt; wooden tools and bamboo skewers were used to remove core material from the exterior and interior surfaces; a thin layer of clear synthetci microcrystalline wax was applied and then a brown wax was applied to a few greenish pitted areas.
Presently, there are two hairline scratches at the side of the base: one, just below the signature measures 1 inch, horizontally; the second is on the other side of this edge and measures 1 cm. The is also a 1/3 cm hairline shallow scratch at the top center of the figure.

Auction: Important Fine Art, May 20, 2026
NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Important Fine Art on May 20, 2026 saw international bidding drive strong results for works spanning the mid-19th through 20th centuries.
Highlighting the sale was Scott Kahn’s 1983 dreamlike landscape, Point House Entrance, from a Maryland Collector, which flew past its estimate of $100,000-150,000 to achieve an impressive $267,200. Kahn (b. 1946) studied Fine Art at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by New York’s Art Students League under Theodoros Stamos, and later, Rutgers University. His enigmatic landscapes blend realism with subtle surrealism, employing precise geometry and carefully calibrated color and spatial relationships to create an illusory sense of depth.
Determined bidders from around the globe drove Home by Zarina Hashmi far over its $50,000-70,000 estimate to realize $114,800. Property from the Estate of Susann Kelly Kurz, the 1981 work in cast paper was acquired by Kurz in the early 1980s. Indian-born Hashmi (1937-2020) created minimalist works on paper that explored themes of home, memory and displacement, shaped by her experience of migration following the Partition of India and her life across multiple countries as the wife of an Indian diplomat. The auction also delivered outstanding results for works by Ivan Fedorovich Choultsé, Jean Dufy, Auguste Herbin, George Hitchcock, Moise Kisling, André Lhote and Le Pho. among many others.
