NEW YORK, NY -- On Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 11am, Doyle will host the next sale in the popular Doyle+Design auction category. This highly-anticipated sale showcases a wide range of Modern and Contemporary furniture, art and design by prominent designers, makers and artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Art
The fine art section of the sale offers over 160 lots of paintings, drawings, sculpture and prints spanning the 20th century to the current day. Among the highlights are a 2012 abstraction, Violet 2, by French artist Monique Frydman (est. $15,000-25,000), a watercolor by Brazilian artist Marina Perez Simao from 2021 (est. $10,000-15,000), and an untitled monochrome work by Ludwig Sander from 1962 (est. $8,000-12,000).
Furniture
Among the numerous furniture highlights are Vladimir Kagan’s biomorphic ‘Hampton’ sofa (est. $7,000–10,000), Hans Wegner’s ‘Flag Halyard’ lounge chair, defined by its taut flagline (est. $5,000–8,000), and a pair of sleek model no. 3920 chests by Gilbert Rohde, designed in 1939 (est. $5,000–7,000).
Design
The selection of works by Tiffany Studios features three table lamps -- a bronze and leaded glass ‘Colonial Faux-Jeweled Band’ lamp and a bronze and leaded glass 'Feather’ lamp (est. each $8,000-12,000), as well as a bronze and gold Favrile glass ‘Grecian Urn’ lamp (est. $3,000-5,000). Certain to attract attention are 27 turned vessels by Ed, Philip and Matt Moulthrop, three generations of acclaimed American woodturners.
