The Estate of Shermane Billingsley, Heir to the Stork Club Legacy
From the 1930s through the 1950s, the legendary Stork Club stood at the center of New York’s social world, where Hollywood royalty, the wealthy elite, political power players, and international café society mingled under the watchful eye of its charismatic owner, Sherman Billingsley. His youngest daughter, Shermane Billingsley (1944-2023), grew up immersed in the glittering world of the Stork Club and became its devoted historian, spending decades preserving and sharing its legacy. Jewelry from the Estate of Shermane Billingsley features a whimsical diamond stork brooch sporting a black enamel top hat—a stylish tribute to the wit, sophistication and glamour that made the Stork Club one of the most celebrated nightclubs of its era (view lots). Additional jewelry will be offered in Jewelry Online on July 21 (more).
