Light wear to boards, joints starting, spine slightly faded, tear and creasing to folded map, faint offsetting from plates, occasional light spotting, old manuscript annotation to title page, armorial bookplate of Joseph Radcliffe Esqr.. The staunchly unconventional Lady Elizabeth Craven separated from her husband, Baron Craven, and travelled alone through Crimea, Turkey and Greece. This work transcribes the letters that she wrote to her soon-to-be-husband, Alexander, the Margrave of Bradenburg-Anspach and Bayreuth, while on her voyage.
