Napoleon III Gilt-Bronze and Rouge Marble Encrier
Third quarter 19th century
Surmounted by a seated classical female figure holding a globe in her right hand, a scroll in her left hand, flanked by two lidded wells decorated with scrolls and foliage, the bases with classical male masks, on a bowfronted base.
Height 11 1/4 inches, width 15 1/2 inches, depth 10 1/4 inches.

Surmounted by a seated classical female figure holding a globe in her right hand, a scroll in her left hand, flanked by two lidded wells decorated with scrolls and foliage, the bases with classical male masks, on a bowfronted base.
Height 11 1/4 inches, width 15 1/2 inches, depth 10 1/4 inches.
Crack to bow-fronted marble base, gilt mounts with rubbing, oxidation and verdigris, espeically to female figure and wells, left well lid with slight 'smile' to lid and base, lacking top of palm frond on female's lap, scratches and chips to marble.
