Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, period of Alexander II (1855-1881)
After a model by August Spiess, ovoid, on a raised circular foot, the domed cover with rose-form finial, the body painted with a floral bouquet on one side and a portrait of a man in eighteenth-century dress on the other, beneath a pierced upper section and above a tied foliate wreath, the sides with two foliate handles above a satyr mask. Height 11 3/8 inches (28.9 cm).
