Modeled as a standing woman wearing checked kerchief and blue sarafan, a basket over her left shoulder, on a circular rocaille molded base, underglaze blue and incised marks. Height 7 inches (17.8 cm).
The present figure is derived from the illustration by K.A. Zelentsov in Magic Lantern (Volshebnyi Fonar') magazine in 1817. A reproduction of Zelentsov's illustration together with another example of this porcelain figure can be found in Gardner: XVIII - XIX: Porcelain Plastic Arts from Private Collections & Moscow Museums (Moscow, 2002), pp. 102-103.

In good condition; minor chips to underside of base; light surface wear, especially to blue sarafan.
