Esther scroll. Jerusalem: 19th century, with later decoration circa 1920. Illustrated manuscript on vellum housed on a metal roller, probably Ottoman. 6 1/8 inches x approximately 101 inches (10 cm x 2.6 meters), the roller 18 inches from finial tip to finial tip, the finials silver-gilt filigree work; written on six membranes, 21 lines arranged in 17 columns, written in a very legible Hebrew script, the text within a floral border with architectural ornaments between columns; together with two further Esther scrolls with later ornament. Both 19th century with 20th century ornamentation, one scroll on a wooden roller. The first listed some minor staining, one finial tip bent, possible Arabic silver marks on a band on the lower roller; the three scrolls sold as-is, should be inspected.
