Original light blue paper wrapper, printed paper spine labels, housed in custom red cloth clamshell cases. 8 1/4 x 5 inches (20.75 x 14 cm); volume I: 20, lxxviii, 496 pp., volume II: [4], 516 pp., engraved title page vignettes, 2 engraved folding plates, 5 typographic folding tables. Expected spotting, fading, creasing and cracking to wrapper, spine label of volume II a bit chipped, contents lightly spotted throughout, entirely uncut, altogether a rather fine copy in its original state of preservation.

Two volumes from a set of six, though the work is rarely found complete. The work alphabetically lists all those who were executed during the Great Terror, including notables such as the King and Queen, as well as Robespierre and Danton. The work was seized by the police, and presumably very few copies survived.
