One oval and one round coral, rose-cut diamonds, with maker's mark for Josef Siess Söhne, c. 1930, ap. 1.8 dwts. With fitted box signed Ernst Paltscho, Wien 1, Splegelgasse 15, Karlsbad-Neue Wiese.

Founded in 1899 in Vienna, Austria, the Paltscho firm created vibrant jewels for the illustrious Austro-Hungarian elite and Greek royal family. While most famous for creating colorful carved floral gemstone jewelry, whimsical designs in the Art Deco style were also a favorite style, particularly of Ernst.

NEW YORK, NY -- Jewelry sales at Doyle continue to attract competitive bidding at all levels of value, as evidenced by the October 25, 2023 auction in the popular Fine Jewelry category. This exciting sale showcased a wide array of stylish jewelry by Mario Buccellati, Bulgari, Angela Cummings, Tiffany & Co., Ilias Lalaounis and David Webb, as well as fine watches and luxury handbags.

Highlighting the sale was a pair of Antique natural pearl and diamond pendant-earrings that achieved $25,200, many times their $3,000-5,000 estimate. The pearls were well-matched and displayed a lovely color, which greatly added to their allure.
