There is another version of this work in the Palatine Gallery in the Palazzo Pitti, Florence, which is thought to be the original.
Glue relined. Several mended tears: One, approxmately 1 1/2 inches long, next to the infant's left eye, with some associated restoration nearby; another, 2 inches long, running vertically across the baby's ebroidered cover, with an assocxiated area of restoration; and a third, hook-shaped, about 2 inches long, above the center of the lower edge. A spot of restoration about 1 - 1 1/2 inches on the baby's pillow. Some lines reinforced. Some restoration to the background in the upper right quadrant, and near the lower right corner.
