NEW YORK, NY -- Join us for cocktails and a book signing with Emily Evans Eerdmans in celebration of her new book, Henri Samuel: Master of the French Interior (Rizzoli) − the first dedicated to the pre-eminent French designer. With lavish illustrations, the book profiles the luxurious interiors he created for such clients as Doris Duke and multiple Rothschilds and Vanderbilts.
Emily Evans Eerdmans is an acclaimed design historian, author and principal of Eerdmans Fine Art. She teaches connoisseurship and design history at the New York School of Interior Design. Emily is the author of several books, including The World of Madeleine Castaing and Mario Buatta: Fifty Years of American Interior Decoration.
The event will take place within the exhibition of English & Continental Furniture & Decorative Arts, including Old Master Paintings. Featured in the exhibition are the Estate of Wendy Vanderbilt Lehman, Property of Alfred G. Vanderbilt, and the Estates of Lili and Norman Israel.
