[Boston: 1875-1887]. Calf-backed marbled boards, preserved in custom slipcase and chemise. 7 1/2 x 5 inches; ink on ruled paper,  pp.; pencil drawing corner mounted. Front cover pulling away from textblock, spine worn with split to head, front flyleaves detached but present.
With pencil drawing: "Club House West Island" dated 1878. Waterfowl hunting journal kept by Bostonian "G. A. K." (George A. Kendall) in the years 1875 to 1887, detailing hunts at Nantasket, Massachusetts; West Island, Rhode Island; Long Cove and Patchogue, Long Island; Ragged Island, Virginia; and around Currituck Sound, North Carolina. His bag included brants, coots, geese, broadbills, eider, redheads, sheldrake, Cape Race, black duck, old squaw, canvasbacks, widgeon, whistler (golden-eye duck), and loons or divers. "I have determined to follow the example of my friend G.H.M. & jot down the result of each day's shooting. Boston 1875." G. H. M. was George Henry Mackay of Nantucket, whose Shooting Journal 1865-1922 was edited by John C. Phillips. A unique example of sporting Americana.
