Original quarter black morocco over green cloth. 9 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches; 21 text pp.; photogravure frontispiece and 61 photogravure plates, each captioned and with tissue guard. Extremities rubbed, some pale spotting to cloth, scattered foxing.
First published in 1911 with a third edition (with slightly expanded text) appearing in 1919. The Club was established in 1888 and financed by the likes of Andrew Carnegie, J. Pierpont Morgan, and members of the Rockefeller and Goodyear families, among others. The plates depict the club house and cottages, the grounds, the golf course, the landing dock, island scenery, and scenes of members and staff engaged in bicycling, hunting, golfing, etc.
