Black leather album with approximately 402 photographs mounted to the recto and verso of card sheets, a label to the inside cover in manuscript in purple ink in Zane Grey's hand reads as above, the album further labeled "New Zealand and Tahiti" in white on the front cover. The images mostly 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches (8 x 11 cm); the album 9 x 14 inches (24 x 26 cm). A few toned images, the binding rubbed, well preserved overall.
A fine album compiling Romer Grey's (Zane Grey's oldest son) photographs from the later part of a fishing expedition to the South Seas, with many images of trout fishing on the Waihoro and Tongariro Rivers. Provenance: reportedly from the estate of Zane Grey.
