Discovery was a champion Thoroughbred racehorse whose career ran from 1933-1936, with 63 races of which he won 27. Purchased by Alfred G. Vanderbilt II's Sagamore Farm in 1936, Discovery went on to sire 25 graded stakes race winners, and through his offspring became the grandsire of Hall of Fame champions Native Dancer, Bold Ruler and Bed o'Roses, as well as the Preakness Stakes winner Hasty Road. He is considered one of the great racehorses of the 20th Century.
